Welcome to Rutland Musical Theatre

We perform at least one musical per year, usually in April at Uppingham Theatre.

We are excited to announce that our production for April 2018 will be the world famous classic ‘Guys and Dolls’! Written by Frank Loesser, the musical includes many well known numbers such as “A Bushel and a Peck”, “Luck be a lady” and “Sit down, you’re rockin’ the Boat” to name just a few. It premiered on Broadway in 1950 and won the Tony award for Best Musical. The 1955 film adaptation starred Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine.

Tuesday 19th September = 7.30-10pm
Thursday 21st September = 7.30-10pm

These auditions will be closed
You will be asked to sing something of your choice with sheet music or backing track NOT unaccompanied.
You will also be asked to read a monologue.

CALL BACKS on Sunday 24th September 2pm.
This will be an open audition.
Call backs are for some to read scripted dialogue to look at pairings of characters and ability to take direction.
Plus hopefully dance auditions with choreographers there too.
If not called back it doesn’t necessarily mean – no principal part, just need to see combinations of people.

Location of auditions to be confirmed at meet and greet on Thursday 14th September.

Tickets for Guys and Dolls will be available later in 2017.   Please check back later this year for details.

Meet and Greet for Guys and Dolls is on Thursday 14th September at Manton Village Hall at 7.30pm.
